Dr Shahani Ikram

BMedSci (Hons), MBBS, FRACGP

Dr Shahani Ikram graduated from the University of Queensland in 2012 with a Bachelor of Medical Science (Honours) and Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery. She later earned a Diploma in Child Health from the University of Sydney and is currently pursuing a Master of Public Health at James Cook University. In 2023, she achieved Fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.

Her medical career has included roles at several hospitals across Queensland, such as Bundaberg Base Hospital, Rockhampton Base Hospital, and The Prince Charles Hospital. In 2021, she transitioned into general practice, where she continues to provide comprehensive care.

Her clinical interests include chronic disease management, women’s health, children’s health, and mental health.

Dr Ikram is fluent in Sinhala, Tamil, and English.
